Welcome to the new T & The Wonder home page!
With so many social networks out there, a band needs to do a lot to keep up. Try as we might to be omnipresent, sometimes we forget about updating a certain portal and it makes us look as if our band is on hiatus (or extremely lazy). There are simply too many sites to keep track of. In an effort to lasso everything together, we created this new, straightforward web page. We left out a few pages where we host music as not to appear redundant, but all of the most important sites have been embedded.
In other news, if you have not yet downloaded the debut LP, it is free until the end of August! It can be obtained via bandcamp.
Thanks for the continued support and enjoy the rest of your summer!

It’s been a couple of months since I’ve posted an update, so here it is… Our EP is basically tracked at this point and now we just need to get it mastered. It’s a brief EP but it packs a punch and we’re currently looking for the best ways to share it with the world. The EP is quite different from the LP in that it was recorded at both Paragon and Patrick’s home studio in Vermont that he’s recently set up. We’re quite pleased with the results and we’re anticipating the release.
On a side note, plans are in the works for a music video. I can’t provide any details at the moment but it will probably serve as our main promotion piece for the new EP.
The EP should be out in early spring (which isn’t too far off from when I predicted). I hope to have it ready to go before I visit L.A. for spring break, which reminds me… I can only hope it provides a good soundtrack to all of your spring break shenanigans!

Much has happened since I last posted. We have almost everything recorded for our new EP; we just need to smooth out the details. If you went to our show at Panchos, you heard one of the songs from the EP, “Old Brick Roads.” The EP should be out in late January/early February.
Patrick just left Chicago today, headed for Vermont. As you may have heard, he’s moving to the east coast. Once the school year is over, I’ll be moving to the west coast. Obviously this living-on-opposite-sides-of-the-country thing will prevent live shows from being possible, but we plan to continue making music as a studio band. In the short term, I’m going to Vermont for winter break to work with Patrick, finishing up the EP.
The release of the EP will be similar to that of our LP; we’ll put it online so people can purchase it on iTunes. However, this time we’re going to try and figure out some physical copies… CDs? USB drives? 8-track tapes? The jury’s out right now but we’ll think of something. Like I’ve said before, CDs are dead, but I’d really like to release some liner notes with pictures and lyrics. We might even throw a couple tracks online for free download.
Anyway, stay tuned for updates. We have a lot of new things in the works.

After resting on our laurels for long enough, T & The Wonder is hitting the studio once again to begin recording for our upcoming EP titled “Expatriates.” We will be tracking at Paragon, the same studio where we recorded our self-titled LP. We’re both very excited to be working on bringing the new material to life because much of it has been written for months now, one of the songs having been written almost two years ago.
The process this time around will be far more expedient. Our LP took just under a year to produce whereas this EP, if all goes according to plan, should be done sometime this winter. I can’t say much else about the EP quite yet except that you can expect more of a chamber pop sound than on our previous release, as we will be accompanied by a string section for the majority of the songs. We think the evolution in our sound will fit in nicely with our repertoire and we’re anxious to finish it.
As a side note, we’re scheduled to play a show at Panchos on Saturday, 11/6. We’re also in the midst of trying to organize some sort of a house show. Updates soon!

We’re both very excited to begin recording for our new EP. Half of our demos are done and Patrick just received Pro Tools in the mail. We have a little home studio set up now so it seems the only thing we’ll need to record elsewhere is the drums (and possibly the bass). We have many new ideas on the table so now it’s just a matter of getting everything arranged.
The bulk of our recording will be done in the next couple of months and then we’ll need to put in a good amount of time for production, one of the most important parts. It will be interesting to see how we manage to juggle this project with college classes, moving, and whatever other obstacles get thrown at us on the way.
For now, we just need to send sheet music to the violinist and cellist, get in touch with the photographer, make sure Joe at Paragon knows what’s up, and try to submit this band sticker design. Updates soon!

As the end of summer draws closer, we have been brainstorming new ideas for our next release. With a few new lyrics and some solid demos, we’re not too far from beginning the recording process. I see promise in the new material and I think it will be a large step forward for our band, both musically and lyrically. It’s an ambitious goal, but we hope to have a new product (LP? EP?) out by the beginning of 2011.
In the meantime, we plan on getting back into regularly playing shows because practice makes perfect. We will also have some stickers available soon, as well as t-shirts. Until then, I’ll be hitting the Moleskine.
