After much deliberation, we have decided to forego the process of printing physical copies of our album.  This decision came about after facing up to the fact that neither of us would ever buy a CD at this point in time.  I think we can all agree that CD’s are best used as beer coasters in this day and age.

To keep in step with recent trends in music distribution, we plan on having a completely digital release.  Fully aware that this isn’t a revolutionary idea, we think this will be the fastest and easiest way to get our new album out there.  We want everyone to hear it without any problem or hesitation, so it’s being cleared for iTunes as I type this.  Their turnaround rate ranges, but I think the album should be up and running before June.

For those of you out there who want something physical and can’t justify buying digital music, we have a little something in the works… more on that soon.

We’re both very excited to put this album out.  It has been kicking around the studio for far too long!  We appreciate the continued support and we hope you find our new stuff to be perfect for driving, partying, and club banging.

If you scroll through this blog and do the math, you will likely come to the conclusion that we tend to procrastinate.  For instance, the amount of time between when we began recording our album (in October) and now is devastating.  It’s also comical to see how many times we said the album would be out “soon.”  Soon, to us, is a relative term.

This is why I have some exciting news.  Our album will, at the very least, be on iTunes in early May and physical copies will be released around the same time.  What’s the silver lining to our prolonged release date?  These songs are better background music for spring/summer anyway.  So in a week or two get on iTunes, download it, and grab your sneakers.  Some bros on the quad need you to join their team for a game of ultimate Frisbee.

After months of being held back by red tape for one reason or another, we finally have two songs from our upcoming album streaming online!  The latest (and last) version of “Tote Bag,” and the slow folk rocker, “Lost Pages.”  The page also features art by Katherine Lika and Allyson Gutchell.  There’s plenty of joy to be had by all, so what are you waiting for?

To those of you who clicked on the “news” link on our page, you probably noticed the lack of anything interesting going on.  That will change very soon.  It just so happens that we’ve been quite busy as of late, putting the finishing touches on our album.  We’ve also begun practicing again (in the studio, no less) so we’ll have a slew of new shows listed ASAP.

As for the near future, expect a new page with new songs.  We’ve said that before, but copyrighting has taken longer than expected.  Regardless, the page is about to transform.  2010 is going to be the year of T & The Wonder.  We can feel it in our bones!

We just stepped out of the “Holly Jolly Trolley” food drive.  We played a stripped down set, featuring acoustic/mandolin renditions of “Tote Bag” and “Lost Pages,” and if you tuned into WCRX you might have caught it.  It’s going on all day so bring your food.

In album related news, we’re putting the finishing touches on our LP.  We keep setting release dates and it keeps getting pushed back, so I’m going to say nothing about a date.  However, a few tracks will be streaming online in the coming weeks.

Happy Holidays.

Our album might be out a little later than we first thought.  However, we will still have some new tracks from it up very soon.  Believe me when I say I can’t wait to replace those demos that have been sitting on our page for months.  Everyone will get a peek at our new stuff in the next few weeks, hopefully.  We appreciate the continued support.

If you haven’t heard somehow, we’re headlining at Bottom Lounge on November 22nd, so you should definitely come and hang out with us.  We’ll be playing songs from the album.

We’ve been in the studio every weekend for the last three weeks trying to get the best possible sound.  I’m anxious for everyone to hear it.

After spending over thirty hours recording our new album, we’re pleased to say we finally have a product we think everyone will truly enjoy.  There are still some adjustments that need to be made and some mixing that needs to be done, but our new album will drop before Christmas.  It will, at the very least, be on iTunes by then.  Eventually I’ll put up some pictures from the studio.

Keep your eyes peeled for our new album because it’s going to drop before you know it.

Tonight is the night we test out our amps, set up the drum set, try out every shaker, etc.   Tomorrow (Friday) morning our first session at Paragon begins.  We may not have tracks up for you to hear for a while, but it’ll be worth the wait!

We’ll post updates from the studio.

T & the Wonder is hitting the studio in about a week to record our full-length LP in its entirety.  There has been a lot of planning and scrutinizing details up to this point and we’re both anxious to get everything recorded.

Expect a finished album before Thanksgiving and shows even earlier.

I’d say more but there’s too much that still needs to be done.

We were recently interviewed for WCRX’s “Sounds From The Underground” segment.  The Mp3 file is streaming on their site, so just follow the link below and check it out.

Our friend Lee Dickman can be heard on 88.1 fm or streaming on their website so tune in.  Thanks so much so the people who made that possible.  The whole thing turned out quite nicely, and Tote Bag is getting some air time!

Now, for a band update…

We finally settled on a studio we like, and we are beginning the process of recording our full-length LP.  It’s going to be a relief to record everything we’ve been practicing for the last few months.  On that note, expect us to play a show sometime in late October.

Also, as we had previously mentioned, our band lineup has changed a little.  Obviously it’s still Tavis and Patrick, but we have a new drummer (Matt) and an additional guitarist (Carlo) from the defunct Chicago band, Manic Sewing Circle.  You’ll definitely need to catch us when we present our new fuller sound.

In a nutshell, October is going to be a very busy month for T & The Wonder.
